Started by three industry veterans, who worked together in various positions since 2004, the team delivers transaction and investment management excellence across Europe. Over a time span of 25 years’ individual experience, the team encompass a deep operational knowledge across all asset classes and sub sectors within private, closely-held situations as well as institutional investment management.

OUR TEAM
The MBS team is composed of highly experienced partners acting as boutique specialist in sourcing, underwriting and managing assets for institutional and high-net-worth private investors.
Gil Bar
Amongst other leading institutional companies, Gil was managing director at Aviva Investors and executive at Standard Life Investments, where he was responsible for a range of multi-billion pan-European real estate funds and various European management teams. Prior to that, he worked at Zecca Properties, with responsibility for pan-European real estate developments and investments.
Gil holds a Postgraduate Degree in Property Investment from the College of Estate Management, University of Reading, and a Diploma from the Ecole Hôtelière de Lausanne. He is a Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, completed the Investment Management Certificate and is fluent in six languages.
Ulrich Schmidt
Uli has long standing investment experience across Europe with a focus on Germany since 2010 covering standing investments as much as developments.
Before that Uli worked in institutional fund management with Henderson Global Investors managing the property fund of funds – Henderson Indirect Property Fund FCP and portfolio re-structuring projects partially in creditor committees 2008-2010.
Uli is civil engineer (Darmstadt), MSc project management (ECM), qualified CFA charterholder and holds a degree in real estate economics at the European Business School (ebs) Oestrich-Winkel.
Kubilay Mermertas
Kubilay joined the real estate and finance industry in 2002 at the project developer IDG AG Düsseldorf and has a wide range of experiences in investment, letting and development over all real asset classes.
He then moved to BNP Paribas Real Estate in Düsseldorf / Essen for the next 8 years, during which he held various managerial positions in the commercial real estate sector nationwide. Before he decided to found Marmorstein Real Estate GmbH, after his time at BNP, he took on responsibility for the sourcing of real asset opportunities with a volume of € 20 to 100 million in the pan-European region for the following 4 years in Gil’s team at Aviva Investors in Frankfurt.
Kubilay holds a Dipl.-Wirtsch.-Ing. from the Civil Engineering dep. of University of AS Kaiserslautern and a RICS acc. MBA from University of AS Biberach. Kubilay is also a public certified appraiser for real estate.

Our key strength is the combination of a focussed investment management process with classic project development and dedicated asset management.
We source suitable opportunities, then we implement, make the transition to asset and development management and prepare the exit. Hence, we are able to deliver every step of the process.
Within our partnership-based model we create tangible and measurable added value for our business associates. MBS provides its partners with a deep understanding of project development and asset management throughout the asset lifecycle.
Optimizing existing values within interdisciplinary organized expert project teams, is our targets guiding principle at each project. We use internal and external resources – always best in class.
